Greener Grass is the meeting of four musicians with a shared passion for storytelling through song.
The three distinct voices of Sanne Huijbregts, Julia Werner and Vita Pagie take turns being the narrator or enter into dialogue with each other, creating magical vocal polyphony. They are accompanied by multi-instrumentalist Camiel Jansen who juggles between the earthy tones of upright bass and fanciful flights of mandolin, occasionally adding his own voice to the harmonies. Huijbregts’ vibraphone is the final ingredient contributing percussive textures and harmonies to complement the strings and voices. All of these elements are layered to create deeper dimensions in which simplicity and sophistication go hand in hand.
The result is a dreamscape of vocal harmonies, lyricism and intimate compositions. Greener Grass’ music flirts with folk, jazz and indie pop, but ultimately defies genre in the name of authentic song.
